Volunteer

We are so grateful to the many people who selflessly give of their time to help us help others. Last year, we filled over 8,000 volunteer opportunities for a total of nearly 15,000 volunteer hours. Volunteers support us in a variety of ways, from participating in children's chapel to sorting clothing, and all of them are important. If you are interested in volunteering, we would love for you to check out our available volunteer opportunity descriptions for times which may work with your schedule. (Please note that not all opportunities are available at all times.) If you decide to become a member of "Team Rescue," download and fill out our Volunteer Application and choose your Orientation Date. If your chosen orientation date no longer has space, we will contact you immediately to reschedule. Otherwise, we will send a reminder email with directions on the week prior to your chosen date.

Volunteer Orientation Dates and Times

We ask that all those interested in volunteering at CRM fill out a volunteer application and attend an orientation, offered on the days of the months listed below. This will give you an opportunity to meet with our director of volunteers, learn more about the City Rescue Mission, and schedule your volunteer opportunity. Your application must be received at least one week prior to your attending the orientation.

1st Tuesday (12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m.)
Those attending this session are welcome to bring a bagged lunch. Beverages provided.

3rd Wednesday (5:30 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.)
This session is available for those unable to attend the noon orientation.

While there are some opportunities for groups, we do ask that you remember that our staff is small, as with many ministries, and we cannot always accommodate large groups (8+), individuals who have a limited availability schedule, or those who call last minute. If your small group is interested in volunteering, only the contact person will be asked to attend a volunteer orientation.

Attention: Large Groups!

As stated above, it can be difficult to find volunteer opportunities for larger groups. However, another great way to be involved is to have a drive to collect funds or needed items for the Mission. Below are a few possible ways to help us help others and more details can be found on our "Donate" page!

Collect: (see Donate page for more information)

Food Drive (Pack the Pantry) New Socks (Sock Hop Drive) New Underwear (Undie Drive)
Hygiene Items (Personal Needs Shower) Funds for Milk (Milk Money Drive) New Pillows (Pillow Fight Drive)
